Witness True Magic with Fit For A King’s New Single “Witness The End” Featuring Chris Motionless
Fit For A King are absolutely killing it with this new single “Witness The End” featuring Chris Motionless of Motionless in White. The single comes just two weeks before the release of their 8th studio album Lonely God.
This single is the last one on the album and I can see why! From the very beginning when listening to the track lead vocalist Ryan Kirby incredible growls are at the forefront of the song. His powerful clean vocals add a nice contrast during the chorus. Blending raw emotion in the lyrics “Witness the end.// Witness the end of everything.// Losing our faith in what we used to know.//Waiting to breathe again, choking on every sin.// Don’t let me go, deliver me divinity.” brings a true vulnerability that you would have not expected to feel. The transition from Kirby’s vocals with that fry scream in between the beginning of the second verse to Chris Motionless’s vocals was truly incredible. Motionless’s vocals are not being hidden here whatsoever. His dynamic range adds a haunting element to the song that just makes this even better especially during that bridge line”The lies I sold are etched in their flesh, each broken body a servant of death”. The two vocalists are working together to bring life to the song.
Now the actual music itself is truly amazing. With the subtle use of synths, it adds a cinematic feel to the sound. The music is very guitar heavy that is tuned low to add an aggressive feel to the song plus it adds a little bit of a djent sound to it. The fast double kick drum brings an intensity and brutality that gives reminiscence of being in an apocalyptic movie. Fit For A King is known for the intense and heavy breakdowns where “Witness The End” has it all. The accompanying music video, which was directed by Max Moore, is visually so appealing that it just fits the song perfectly. Great interaction from both Kirby and Motionless throughout the entire video but they were still allowed to have their own moments to showcase their individual moments of the song. Very cathartic moments with the whole video being filmed in a church and the message of seeing a holy figure sacrificing themselves to the demon hidden being locked in the tree.
Overall, Fit For A King created a true masterpiece in this song. Their new album Lonely God will be out on August 1st. Fit For A King are also heading out on tour this fall with Make Them Suffer, Spite and 156/Silence to support the release of the new album. The tour kicks off on October 30th in Phoenix and ends December 7th in Dallas. I’m hoping this song is on that set list because it will sound amazing live. Definitely don’t sleep on this album the moment it’s released!
