The Collab of the Century- “End of You” by Amy Lee, Courtney LaPlante & Poppy is Officially Out

All hail the Mother, the Daughter and the Holy Spiritbox. Amy Lee, Courtney LaPlante and Poppy have come together in creating one of the world's most anticipated collaborations in their new song “End of You” released via Sumerian Records.

These three powerhouse vocalists have been teasing for over a week that they had something brewing together on social media. The artists have been posting snippets of their music video of the song with all of them having the lyric “//Cuz the end of you is the start of life for me//”. Then on this past Wednesday they officially announced that the song would be released on September 4th via Spotify with the accompanying music video being released at the same time on Youtube.

The song is a perfect blend of three of these vocalists styles. The beginning of the song starts with Lee’s hauntingly beautiful voice that slowly builds until the chorus and when that second verse hits that’s when we get Poppy’s vocals added to it. Poppy’s vocals in this song are much softer and blend perfectly with Lee’s powerful voice. As we get to the end of the second chorus to the beginning of the bridge Poppy does a great transition of a scream that blends nicely with LaPlante’s screams. The bridge consists of LaPlante’s screams in the beginning with Lee’s vocals joining and both singing is perfect harmony. The rest of the song has all three vocalists joining in unison. The music itself is a blend of modern gothic metal and metalcore with very strong industrial guitar riffs. The music also had the help of Mike Stringer of Spiritbox and Jordan Fish who also produced the song as well.

The music video for “End of You” was directed by Jensen Noen who is known for creating cinematic masterpieces for bands like Ice Nine Kills, Falling in Reverse, Dayseeker and many more. The video highlights each of the women in individual scenes beginning in an abandoned movie theater with Lee in a dilapidated mansion singing her verse and the chorus all while noticing she is being filmed. The scene moves to Poppy being in the frozen mansion also noticing that she is being filmed and runs off into a room of mirrors that transitions into LaPlante being in the same room of mirrors that are being digitized. Eventually all three artists come together in the same abandoned movie theater watching the mysterious masked man that has been filming them on the big screen. Overall the visuals and the storyline of the video fits perfectly with the song.

The collaboration between Lee, LaPlante, and Poppy feels like a genuine milestone for heavy music. It’s a showcase of three distinct voices finding a common ground between gothic elegance, metalcore ferocity, and avant-garde experimentation. “End of You” proves that heavy music is thriving when it embraces diversity of sound and vision. Lee anchors the track with her timeless, soaring presence, LaPlante injects raw intensity, and Poppy blurs boundaries with her unpredictable edge. The result is a song that feels cinematic, commanding, and unafraid to merge worlds that, until recently, might have seemed too far apart. This isn’t just a collaboration but a statement that the future of alternative and heavy music is collaborative, fearless, and bigger than genre lines.
