Tributes have been pouring out towards friends and family for the former drummer and music agent since the news broke out. If many don’t know, Williams was a founding member for the Ohio band The Devil Wears Prada when it formed in 2005. Dave Shapiro is also well known in the music industry as having represented bands like Sum 41, Lamb of God, Pierce the Veil, Parkway Drive, I Prevail and many more as founding member of Sound Talent Group. He previously worked for The Agency Group and United Talent Agency prior to launching Sound Talent Group with Tim Borror and Matt Andersen. He was also an avid aviation fan.

Both Shapiro and Williams were both at DWP festival Welcome to Rockville in Daytona, Florida this past weekend. Hours before the plane crash, Williams posted on social media that he was the copilot on the flight with Shaprio. The flight was coming in from the Midwest to San Diego before crashing into a small neighborhood in San Diego county. There is notice that others were on the small 8 person plane but no other names have been stated for privacy reasons.

Our condolences to the families of these two legends.
